Spicy Honey Sriracha Chicken Wing Sauce

A rollercoaster of flavors from the initial sweetness of honey, the tanginess brought to you by the lime and soy sauce, with a strong spicy finish.  An elegant change up from your typical buffalo sauce.

  • 1 tbsp Lime Never use lime juice in a bottle, only fresh limes

Instructions

  • Mince garlic cloves or use a garlic press and set aside
  • Place a medium pot on the stove over medium heat
  • Once hot, add 1 tbsp butter and stir till fully melted
  • Add garlic and stir for about 1 minute or until fragrant
  • Add honey, sriracha and soy sauce and blend together
  • Add remaining 1 Tbsp of butter, stir till melted
  • Cut lime in half. Squeeze half a lime into the sauce and give one final stir. Add additional lime juice to taste
  • Place wings in a large bowl, pour sauce over wings and mix till all wings a soaked in sauce

Notes

This is a winner. Ideal for folks who like a healthy amount of spice but enjoy tangy and sweet. However, if your audience finds sriracha on the hot side, dial back the amount to 1/8 cup and add more honey.
Disclaimer: Do not leave the Lime Juice out! Without the lime juice, it just doesn’t taste the same. Too sweet.
